CRT, Anti-racism, BLM: Legacies Of A Slave Mentality

These days, “black oppression” is a tactic used in dirty politics. But in my early life, it was very real. The Jim Crow days were a landscaped wilderness between slavery and freedom – a mirage of freedom.
But I’ll spare the stories. It’s over. Holding on to that stuff is like walking around with a corpse on your back. Drag it around for too long and your soul rots from moral gangrene – a spirit of revenge if you have power; a spirit of resentment if you don’t.  If you have both, you become Maxine Waters. So, no.

Build Back Better’s Housing Investments at Risk

At $330 billion, housing makes up one-tenth of the $3.5 trillion Build Back Better plan, though you’d never know it given the public messaging on the package. While congressional Democrats have focused on everything from climate-related provisions to universal pre-K to child care to paid family leave to drug pricing, little has been mentioned nationally about one of the largest individual parts of the reconciliation bill.
Just because it hasn’t grabbed headlines doesn’t mean it isn’t transformative.

Reinforcing the private space against political acrimony

Democratic Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema recently went to use the restroom.
Nothing odd about that. Except, however, that an activist had different ideas. Said activist decided to harass Sinema as she walked from a university classroom to the restroom. The activist even followed the senator into the bathroom, shouting at her while she was using the facilities. Of course, the activist was filming the encounter the entire time, and the recording was shared countless times over social media.

Exclusive book excerpt: How Facebook and Twitter rigged the game in 2020

In her new book, “Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections,” Mollie Hemingway reveals how social-media companies like Twitter and Facebook responded to the 2016 election of Donald Trump to go from free-speech advocates to censors — including blocking The Post’s reporting on Hunter Biden. Here, an exclusive excerpt:
Donald Trump’s 2016 victory was a shock to much of the country, but Silicon Valley took it especially hard. The progressive bastion of San Francisco had turned tech companies from libertarian idealists into liberal crusaders.

Fed to the lions: Jerome Powell’s ‘taper’ chase may cost him his job

Jerome Powell should be a layup for a second term as Federal Reserve chair, and yet he’s not.
The problem stems from Powell’s plans to begin “tapering,” or ending the Fed’s massive printing of money through asset purchases in the bond market. That’s leaving him vulnerable on reappointment, a growing number of Wall Street Fed watchers tell me.
The bear case for Powell starts when his tapering exposes the big lie being promulgated by the Democratic leadership that their new spending plan is “paid for.
