Op-Ed: Columbus’ fear of Islam, rooted in Europe’s Crusades, shaped his view of Native Americans

In all that has been written about Columbus — from his being the first Italian American to the progenitor of a continental genocide — one of the most crucial aspects of his biography is missing: A primary force behind Columbus’ Atlantic crossings was a fear and hatred of Islam.
This shaped how white Europeans engaged with the “New World” and its native peoples for centuries, and how today’s Americans understand the world. It should influence how we think about the second Monday in October — whether you call it Columbus Day, Indigenous Peoples Day or Italian Heritage Day.

Vaccine Mandates and National Security

Some 400,000 Americans died from the COVID-19 virus before Donald Trump left office and at least another 315,000 have, so far, died since Joe Biden became president.
The COVID vaccines give a high level of protection against the virus. Even if you’re vaccinated, it’s still possible to get the disease but the chances of it being fatal are, we are told, greatly reduced. With or without the vaccine, between 97% and 99.75% of persons contracting it survive.

I have bad news and good news.
I’ll save the good news for the end — because you need to know there is hope.
The bad news is that the country is on fire, thanks to the brain-dead, feeble, old man with dementia (aka President Joe Biden). If you don’t believe me, just see the 14,000 Haitian migrants hiding under a bridge in Texas, now released into America by Biden. That should help the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tucker Carlson: The military’s COVID vaccine mandate amounts to a power grab

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
For fun sometime, give a little civics test to people in your neighborhood. Ask them, if you wanted to take over a country, how would you do it? And here’s the answer you’re likely to get from all of them: “Well, first you’ve got to get the most votes.” They’re Americans. That’s what they believe. And they believe it because that’s how things have worked in America for hundreds of years. It’s called representative democracy. But that’s not how things work in most other places, or ever have.

Rush to Judgment: An autopsy of a racial power grab in Coronado

Rush To Judgment
Racial justice activists rushed to judge the championship basketball team of Coronado, CA as racist, but are they really?

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
The one thing guaranteed when one uses race as a means to power is absurdity. The actual truth is ignored for the optics that can be spun to serve those pursuing power. And the absurdity arises from the simple fact that many folks see the actual truth plainly but choose to ignore it for the power that the optics promise.

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum: Lessons of National and Personal Loss

How does a museum tell a story of such breadth, such gravity, such sadness?
I’d never visited the National September 11 Memorial & Museum until this past Thursday. No particular reason. Twenty years ago, I was steeped in 9/11, as any patriot, as anyone with a heart, would be. It was so sad, so unnecessary, predictable but a shock. It’s certainly defined the times since.
