No president has ever proposed a more egregiously misnamed piece of legislation than President Joe Biden’s so-called Build Back Better plan. The label “Progressive-Democrats” chose for this European-style socialist legislation is an example of their favorite ploy: semantic subterfuge — assigning an appealing name to an appalling concept.

The Biden Paradox

The Biden paradox has led to a cottage industry of pundit commentary (mis)diagnosing what went wrong and offering advice on what Democrats should do now. An emblematic article, by New York magazine’s Jon Chait, a Prospect alum (where did we go wrong?) gets the story about half-right. The whole piece is worth reading for both its insights and its errors, and because it conveniently channels the conventional wisdom.
Chait’s basic argument is that the Democrats’ cultural radicalism on issues of race, identity, immigration, woke language, etc.

Tucker Carlson, Your Boss’s Favorite “Populist”

The United States is a country where the lives and working conditions of the average person are shaped by business and oligarchy to a unique extent. US workers lack the benefits and protections that most of the world takes for granted. They pay some of the world’s highest prices for medicine and health care, in a system that leaves them sicker and financially devastated. And their communities are plagued by exceptionally high rates of poverty, debt, homelessness, and deaths of despair.

There is nothing worse than a progressive. That’s it, no qualifiers necessary; that not only sums it up, it’s the whole thing. How else to explain their actions? Without suffering a closed-head injury, being bad people is the only other way to explain how the left acts. Rude? Can the truth be rude?
Where to start with something like this? The choices are too plentiful.

The greediest Thanksgiving ever

Now, they tell us, inflation might be happening — but it’s the fault of greedy corporations! And those companies must be punished.

Corporate greed is why your Thanksgiving turkey and energy prices are more expensive this year, alleges Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). Corporate greed is also why Dollar Tree is finally raising its prices, after 35 years, from $1 to $1.25 for most items, says a senior staffer for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

Beto Is Back

Washington — One of my favorite candidates in the 2020 race for the Democratic nomination has just announced that he is running for high office once again in 2022. He is Beto O’Rourke, and he is one of the great innovators in recent American politics. Of course, he is one of the great losers in recent American politics too, having lost in 2018 to Sen. Ted Cruz and two years later having lost in his run for the Democratic presidential nomination. He bowed out of the race before it began. How many millions of dollars he cost his backers I would not hazard a guess, but it was a bundle.

How the media covers up for the Pentagon’s highway robbery

Intense debate over the Build Back Better (BBB) legislation has triggered stern lectures by fiscal conservatives about government spending. The legislation, which hangs in the political balance between progressive lawmakers and conservative Democrats like Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin, costs $1.75 trillion over 10 years in its present form, which is equivalent to $175 billion per year.

Wealthiest 1% get richer under Dems' reckless tax-and-spend package

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
The Democrats’ self-stated effort to “change America,” and to do so unilaterally through the budget reconciliation process, has revolved around an ever-changing menu of tax hikes guided not by sound tax policy, but by the revenue they want to raise.
These reckless tax hikes are being sold under the guise of “taxing the rich,” “leveling the playing field” or having people pay their “fair share.

Is Joe Biden a Human Mine Detector?

During the brutal war on the Eastern Front from 1941-1945, both Germany and Russia reportedly used people as human mine detectors, forcing them into areas sown with anti-personnel and anti-tank mines. If an individual was fortunate enough to find a lane through the lethal devices, soldiers followed. If he stepped on a device and it exploded, another poor wretch took his place. Most of these people were from penal battalions, and a high percentage were political prisoners.
