From Bush to Obama, and Trump to Biden, U.S. Militarism Is the Great Unifier

Many Democrats, liberals, traditional conservatives, and even some leftists continue to tell themselves that the election of Joe Biden was the first step toward restoring U.S. standing in the world after the damage caused by Donald Trump. And in a variety of ways — many stylistic and some substantive — that perspective has merit. But when it comes to national security policy, the U.S. has been on a steady, hypermilitarized arc for decades. Taken broadly, U.S. policy has been largely consistent on “national security” and “counterterrorism” matters from 9/11 to the present.

Kamala Harris’ low poll numbers reinforce her perceived incompetence

OPINION:
Former President Barack Obama’s closing argument to voters in Virginia last month was to ignore the phony outrage over the “trumped-up culture war.” Fortunately, Virginians ignored him instead. Radical societal transformation through social engineering is a leading goal of the far Left. Cultural Marxism requires dramatic shifts in societal norms to divide and shift power to institutions run by elites.
One of the components of this “woke revolution” is embedding the philosophy of intersectionality into all aspects of American life.

For the Left, “Local Cops Bad, Federal Cops Good”

Opinion

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

In one breath, liberals call local police “racists” and demand their departments be defunded, and in the very next they rush to federal law enforcement agencies for help at the slightest hint of trouble. This is the whipsaw effect of how the Left views law enforcement – local cops bad, federal cops good. It is a perspective totally at odds with the framework on which our federal Republic was constructed.

Biden’s condescension calculation

OPINION:
You just don’t get it. You’re “confused,” says President Joe Biden.
Inflation is at its highest level in three decades. Snarled supply chains mean higher prices and empty shelves. The nation is careening toward another energy crisis. The President’s numbers are in the 30s, and more than 70% of Americans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction.
Since election day, in his unscripted moments, Mr. Biden has taken to the microphone to say some of the most condescending pronouncements ever heard from a President.

The failure of accountability for elite wrongdoing has been a signature catastrophe for America over the past two decades. From the Bush administration’s torture program to the Catholic Church pedophilia scandal to the cacophony of malfeasance in the Trump administration, crime has not been a deterrent to prospering in America.

Brian Williams Was Just the Face of Corporate News Lies

Brian Williams’s just-announced resignation from NBC doesn’t really matter. Other than depriving MSNBC of a familiar, marketable face at a time of plummeting ratings, and when a number of its major stars have one foot out the door, it’s not going to change anything about the network. Nor is it going to change anything about the poisonous, profit-driven dynamics of cable news, easily the most powerful disseminators of misinformation in today’s politics, something Williams participated in with relish.
