GOP lawmaker kicked off Jan. 6 panel is now overseeing a shadow investigation

One of the two Republican lawmakers that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) removed from the Jan. 6 committee back in July has moved on to chart a new path with a shadow investigation of his own.
According to The Daily Beast, two sources familiar with the situation have said the that Rep. Jim Banks’ (R-Ind.) investigative path has been similar to the one the select committee took. Per the publication, “Banks sent letters to many of the same federal agencies that the select committee’s chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), has contacted for information regarding the U.S.
